Before & After: Barielle Blackened Bleu

Hello!

Today is day 20 in the 31 Day challenge, which means we're coming up on about two-thirds of the way through...the cool part is I only have one more mani to do to finish out all the manis for the challenge! The  people who told me to get a head-start were right, it has made all of the difference. Otherwise, especially when I was sick, I'd have struggled to get a mani posted every day.

Anyway, today's them is texture! I've decided to use a polish which has great texture on its own, and then add some texture to it for a simple, pretty, textured manicure. :)

I started with Barielle Blackened Bleu, which is a really awesome blackened blue polish (go figure), which shows the black not only at the edges, but throughout, almost like continuous flecks:

Blackened Bleu direct sunlight

I love the texture of this polish to start with, it's almost like a type of marble or something, I just love staring at it. :)

As you can tell from the tipwear, I did wear this on its own for a while, before adding to it; then I happened to set eyes on a new Spoiled glitter that I hadn't seen before at CVS called Pet My Peacock. The more I looked at it, the more I decided it would be a perfect textural accent for Blackened Blue. I sponged a rough gradient with the glitter on the tips, and covered it with Seche Vite:

And a close-up to show all the texture

I love this look because even though it's simple and easy, it packs a big punch because of how the polishes go together.

Hope you like it! Thanks for looking, and please show some love to my fellow Crumpet Nail Tarts. :)

Namaste,
M.
