Seriously, I am so boring. I think the most interesting thing about myself is that I have a nail blog, lol! But here we go:

1) I am a professor and have published an academic book.
2) I am left-handed.
3) I have hiked up both a glacier and a volcano. Both times came very close to accidentally killing myself (not kidding).
4) I know that there are actually only 46 states in the United States, and I know why. (Totally not kidding. This is true and will win you bar bets if you know the right answer.)
5) I will eat anything once, as long as someone somewhere on the planet eats it as a regular part of their cuisine, and it is prepared accordingly. I may not eat a second bite, but I will try it, and have tried a fair number of exotic foods. :)
6) Every time I go someplace on vacation, I end up feeding strange animals, right out of my hand. I don't plan this, it just happens--this has included things like wild iguanas and reindeer. Yes, I know this is not safe! Kids, don't try this at home. But for some reason, animals seem to like and trust me.
7) I am a fairly skilled couponer--not an extreme couponer like you see on the show, but pretty fair at it. And I use these skills to help build mah polish stash!

1) I was recently adopted by an American Staffordshire (pit bull) puppy, found abandoned near my home. 

2) I was recently adopted by a kitten, found dying on my back porch.

3) That puppy, that kitten, and the three cats I had before are the loves of my life. :) But I can't take on any more, lol!!

4) I have just begun watching Dexter and Breaking Bad, and I love them both!

5) I love hockey.

6) I am one of very few people who love fruitcake and candy corn. Probably not together, though.

7) I am addicted to the show 'Chopped', and love watching people cook with really, really, REALLY strange ingredients.

Here are the 11 questions I am supposed to answer:

1) why did you start your blog?

I discovered nail stamping about a year ago, give or take a few weeks. I started taking pictures of what I did to show my friends on my facebook page, and when I kept doing more and more and more, I decided that rather than constantly posting those pictures and my explanations, I'd just start a blog where my friends who were interested could see them, and those that weren't didn't have to see them all the time, lol. I am continually surprised (and extremely happy) that other people are interested in what I post! :)

2) How did you choose your blog name?

I was playing around with the word 'lacquer' and it was a pun that made me laugh, so I went with it. Some days I'm sick of it, but most days it still makes me smile. :)

3) Favorite nail care products?

The cutie balm I got when I ordered from The Nail Junkie. It has repeatedly saved my life this winter as I've changed my nail polish daily. That and Zoya's nail polish remover, which is the only reason I still have any skin on my fingers left at all.

4) Favorite band/singer?

Right now that would probably be Katy Perry or Pink. I saw Katy in concert and it was amazing! I want to see Pink, but OMG the tickets are way more than I can afford.

5) Favorite pattern to paint on your nails?

I love flourishy filigree type patterns, but I usually stamp them rather than paint them. :)

6) Favorite nail polish color?

8) Your favorite thing about blogging?

9) Least favorite thing about blogging?

When my pictures won't come out right!!! Like today, I am swatching the China Glaze Avant Garden collection and I have two purples that I can't get to come out true to color no matter what I do. GRAAHHH!!

10) Will you still be blogging a year from now? two years?

I hope so. :)
