Guest Post: Southern Sparkle Nail Art and Jindie Olive You!

Hello Lacquer Lovers!

I'm Samantha and my blog is Southern Sparkle Nail Art! I'm guest posting for Julie, along with a bunch of lovely ladies, while she is away. Today I will be reviewing a Jindie Nails polish that is very close to my heart because I got to name it, Olive You!

As described by Jindie Nails "Olive You is a gorgeous sage/olive green linear holographic polish with metallic green/gold shifting glitters.  It has 3 different types of linear holographic pigments, including SpectraFlair.  This polish is opaque in about 2 or 3 coats." 

I have to agree! Olive You is everything you could hope for in a sage holo! It is opaque in 2 coats and it had a great dry time!

 These photos were taken in natural sunlight! It was a little bit overcast, so the holo is not as strong. :(

Overall, I loved this polish! I would definitely recommend it!

Jindie Polish Sparkle on the Vine

Man oh man.  Today has been a super busy day.  I had a doctor's appointment, and then I had to promptly get to work.  Which I just finished...  Yeah, loooooong day!  Anyway, let's take a quick look at Jindie Sparkle on the Vine, a super gorgeous glitter topper!  Then, I'm off to bed.  I'm pooped!

Color: Clear base chock full of squares, hexes, and small, medium, and giant dots in silver, teal, green, purple, and fuchsia.

Finish: Glitter Top Coat – glitter in a clear base to be worn as a top coat.

Bottle / Brush: Tall round bottles with round cap - the cap is a little awkward to hold because it’s so round but also pretty short.  If you have a hard time holding caps, this bottle type might be difficult for you.  The wand and brush are long and slender allowing you to grab glitters from deeper within the bottle but making it a little more difficult to get the larger glitter pieces to stay on the brush.

Opacity: Glitter topcoat – not designed for full opacity.

Glitter Application: Medium – requires the dab method, but the small to medium sized glitters are easy to extract and spread evenly.  The giant dots do require a little fishing and placement, though.

Consistency: Medium – applies easily and doesn’t flood the cuticles.

Overall Ease of Application: Medium – applies well with minimal pooling, dragging, streaking, or balding.  Spreads well without much manipulation.

Stampability: Not designed for stamping.

Dry Time: Medium – dry to the touch with minimal smudging in 3-8 minutes.

Overall Thoughts: Here I've paired Sparkle on the Vine with Elevation Echinops, which you can see here.  I find this pairing perfect as you can still see the lighter and more delicate glitters all while making the bolder glitters pop with more vibrancy.  Application was easy, but I did have to flip the bottle upside down and then fish a bit to get the larger dots out of the bottle.  Otherwise, the rest of the glitters came out well.  I used the dab method for spreading them, but you could easily brush it on like normal for a less dense and more sparse look.  Even though this feels more like a spring polish, I still love it and would definitely wear it any time of year.  I really want to try it with a jelly sandwich next time.  Maybe with OPI Care to Danse.  Which do you think it would work best with, a lighter color or something brighter?

To see a full review, you can go here.  Clear based polish with green shimmer packed full of neons in primarily green and yellow accented with pink, purple, orange, and blue as well as teal holo moons, neon green stars, fuchsia dots, and silver holo butterflies.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers Operation Hennesy

Operation Hennesy is a navy blue based polish filled with blue, green, and purple hexes, and lime-gold squares.  This is three coats without undies.  Application and dry time were average.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers Eleanor

Black based polish with fuchsia and blue shimmer, pink, purple, and blue hexes.  This one can be wore alone or with black undies depending on the depth you're looking for.  Again, application and dry time are average.

Amy's Nail Boutique Electric Eel

Electric Eel is a lime green straight linear holo with a golden glowy flash.  It's the flash that just knocks this polish out of the park.  It's just so glowy, like it's lit from within.

The holographic prism is quite evident, both indoors and outdoors in the sunshine.  Oh, and my kitties apparently enjoyed me taking swatch shots outside.

Application was medium - the polish was a tad thick, but applied without dragging or balding.  Dry time was medium, meaning it was dry within 5-8 minutes.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers Birthday Wishes

A bright royal blue with a strong pink shimmer.  Sheer and requires 3-4 coats.  It can get a little thick as you go, but plays well with thinner.  As this is one of my babies, it's only available right now through this giveaway.

And here's a shot in the fridge to show the pink a little more easily.  It is quite evident in person, but it kept hiding from my camera.

Lynnderella Sapphire Starfire

This is the newer version without the problem glitters.  It's a clear base with blue glitters in various shades and shapes, including diamonds, hearts, stars, and blossoms.  Like most Lynns, this bad boy was a glitter bomb.  It was easy to get the glitters out, but you definitely need the dab method to get the glitters to spread out well enough.  Here, I've used one coat over Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Birthday Wishes.  Follow Lynndrella's blog and fan pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.  Right now, the only place that sells Lynns are at their eBay store here.

Indigo Bananas Blue Iris

Color shifter?  Understatement.  The base shifts from blue to purple, to a hint of red.  PLUS, there are color shifting iridescent glitters.  This polish is made of win.  Here, I've layered it over two coats of Deborah Lippmann Dancing in the Sheets so you could see the shift better.  You can purchase Indigo Bananas at her store here.  Follow Andrea on her blog, Facebook, and Instagram for news and updates.

Jindie Quit Staring at my Melons

Quit Staring at my Melons is a clear based polish with various shades of melon pink, coral, green, and black in various sizes of dots and hexes.  Application was easy and didn't require much digging.  Here, I've used it over Liquid Lacquer Stick a Fork in Me from prize 5.  You can purchase Jindie Nails at her shop, Llarowe, Harlow, Femme Fatale, Mei Mei's Signatures, and Ninja Polish.  Follow Jen on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for news and updates on releases and restocks.

Rainbow Honey Koi Pond

Koi Pond is another clear glitter topcoat, but it's jam packed with black, orange, silver, and blue hexes that are holo and regular metalic.  My mini bottle had quite a bit of evaporation, but this is the old bottle design, so I'm sure the issue's been fixed.  Application was a little difficult because of that, so I decided to do a glitter gradient over OPI Can't Find my Czechbook from prize 1 instead of covering the whole nail.  You can purchase Rainbow Honey at their store.  You can follow Dee and the crew on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for news and updates.
