A New York Fashion Week Event with Zoya

Zoya Nail Polish was proud to have been a sponsor of the Next Beauty Lounge Event that kicked off New York Fashion Week as well as supplying on-site manicures and gifts for the event attendees.

As a special treat, Zoya Nail Polish was fortunate enough to have stylist and author of "The Pocket Stylist" and "Style Evolution", Kendall Farr at the event who curated the trio based off her view of the most fashionable colors of today. Kendall has been featured in The Wallstreet Journal as well as O: The Oprah Magazine, and was truly a delight to have at this event.

Zoya Nail Polish in NOOT:"On F/W 13 runways it was fifty shades of gray (and counting) in ready-to-wear and accessories from soft and pearlescent to dark almost-black graphite.

Zoya Nail Polish in FLORA:"The surprise color of the FW season is pink - from shades of nude and blush as seen on the Celine runway to the kind of pink usually reserved for easter baskets at Miu Miu. Flora offers a way to the take on the trend with a POP - a pop of pink - a completely unexpected and feminine accent color worn with black leather , gray, white and red and rust tones as seen at 3.1 Philip Lim."

The manicures given to guests during the event were done by Next Artists manicurists; Kristina Konarski and Casandra Lamar and those who attended had a wonderful time being pampered with the beautiful colors. Zoya Nail Polish in Noot was the most popular nail color at the event- a perfect shade for Fall.

Rashida Jones was rockin' the casual look at New York Fashion week, and it's fabulous! Not only does she look effortlessly chic- but comfortable too. In the spirit of fashion week, try a look from one of the runway shows: Nicholas K like Zoya Nail Polish in Noot. A very dark green color with blue-green undertones, this smokey shade is perfect for fall.

The design team of Timo Weiland, Alan Eckstein and Donna Kang (AKA Timo Weiland) turned heads and during their fun and spirited, Indonesian surf inspired Spring/Summer 2014 collection at MadeNY. Zoya was there at the center of it all with a new custom hue named Timo (blue).

Lead manicurist, Sunshine Outing used two colors for the Timo Weiland show depending on each models show look for the Red nails, the team selected Zoya Nail Polish in Maura and the models wearing blue? That was really special - They wore the new Custom Color- Zoya Timo.

For the nail look, Herchcovitch requested a satiny, super glossy and graphic black. Lead manicurist, Cinnamon Bowser achieved the look using Zoya Nail Polish in Raven and topped it with Zoya Armor for an ultra glossy finish. The color complimented the black and white SS14 show looks perfectly on the runway.

Designers Mark and Estel started their brand "Mark and Estel" in LA in 2005. The rocker-style and fashion/music mix became their brand signature and the line is available in both the US and International markets.

For the "love and romance" themed SS14 Mark and Estel show, the designing duo selected Zoya Nail Polish in Noot as the show color. The deep charcoal green nail polish complimented the black and white fabrics PERFECTLY and a bit of Mark and Estel edge to otherwise mostly black and white palette!

Chadwick Bell was born and raised in Southern California and has incorporated the unique American sense of style, with a European mentality of attention to detail.

Manicurist Cinnamon Bowser of NailTaxi used Zoya Nail Polish in Erin, a soft, pale, flesh toned pink with a single coat of Zoya Gaia on top on all nails.This gorgeous sheer look was paired with Zoya Nail Polish in Jacqueline which was layered under Zoya Nail Polish in Goldie with a matte top coat for the random accent nails.

The entire nail look was created by Chadwick Bell himself, he mixed and layered until he arrived at his version of nail polish perfection to compliment the beautiful muted white gold jewelery the models wore during the show created by designer, Anndra Neen. Chadwick wanted to incorporate this "jewelery for nails" style for his show, and it was stunning.

The show beauty inspiration was "1960's French girl at the beach" and was filled with neutral colors, pops of periwinkle, cobalt blue, and beautiful ponchos.

For the Peter Som SS14 show at Milk Studios (madeNY). Zoya Nail Polish's color developer Rebecca Isa, created a trio of color that related perfectly to the spirit of the collection and were inspired by Peter's love of surf culture!

Two of the three custom hues Zoya Alexa (cream teal) and Zoya Edie (a surfs up Island blue) were used together on the runway to create bold, half-moon "nail wave" design and was painted on all of the models using either Zoya Alexa with an Edie moon of visa versa!

A third color, Zoya Stella (an opaque, full coverage light peach), was also created to compliment the collection colors and complete the Zoya Gift Box trio that was gifted to all show attendees.

Even the models couldn't stop looking at their gorgeous Zoya nails!

To get the Peter Som "Nail Wave" look by Zoya, all nails were prepped with Zoya Remove+ nail polish remover and conditioner. Then one coat of Zoya Anchor Base Coat (or Zoya Get Even Ridge Filler Base Coat depending on the models nails). To achieve the look, lead manicurist, Sunshine Outing applied two coats of Zoya Nail Polish in Alexa. and free handed the moons by stopping 3/4 of the way down the nail and applying one coat of Zoya Nail Polish in Edie (or Edie with Alexa in reverse) to create a free spirited surf culture style "Nail Wave". The look was glossed and sealed by using one coat of Zoya Armor Top Coat and one drop of Zoya Fast Drops on each nail to ensure every model would make it the runway dried and ready!
