"Although this is a Valentine’s Day manicure, I’m not a pink kinda girl… well, pink and hearts together is a bit too girly for me, so I played with a couple of vintage chic colors from Zoya’s Lovely spring 2013 collection. I painted my nails with Zoya Neely, a gorgeous light creme green nail polish, and then used Neely and Zoya Jacqueline, a nude cream nail polish, for the water marbelling bullseye. For the accent nail heart, I used one of my favorite creme reds,Zoya Sooki."

Sation Nailstock Collection Review

Hippie readers and far-out followers join hands! Today's a groovy preview of the new Miss Professional Nail Sation Limited III collection, Nailstock. Tune in and drop out to learn more about these wicked colors.

You can see from the promotional image below that there are more shades than their last Limited collection (Little Horse on the Prairie), but I'll only be sharing the love for four of the shades shown below: I Paint in Peace, RV There Yet?, I'm With the Bandana and Imagine-Sation.

It's sweet without any help from me, but here's a little nail art to go with this radical collection. I used two of the colors I'll show you after the jump: RV There Yet? and Imagine-Sation.

Now let's hot-box this blog with some beautiful babies shall we? Everything shown under the cut is three easy coats, and everything shown is absolutely loved.

I Paint in Peace has some pretty shimmer. (If you picked up Weed Out the Wimps from Little Horse, don't worry, the two colors are distinctively unique and won't look alike in your collection.)

I think my favorite color in the bottles I got is RV There Yet? The swatches are strange though. In the bottle, the color is much more green. Maybe I'm just trippin' off the vibes of the collection, but it definitely looks more blue in my swatches. Check out the bubble preview for a closer color comparison.

The rich but mellow feeling behind Imagine-Sation makes me want to roll around in a big puddle of it. It's almost juicy, but it's really just...smooooooooth.

Rounding out this sample set is I'm With the Bandana. It almost feels like the afterglow of the collection. That feeling of pure happiness I'm sure Woodstockers feel when the festival finally ends, and their minds are just trying to absorb all the beautiful things that happened. Nice.

Overall, I'm picking up some wicked good vibes from the collection. I'll be ordering a few other colors including Magic Mani Bus (dude!) and Strumming My Nails.

Taste This Rainbow

If Skittles started making creamsicle flavored Skittles, I think they would look like this.

And you would so buy them. You'd feel guilty about it, and you would purposfully rip the bag right where the calorie content was listed, but you would still buy them. And you would LOVE THEM!

I used six colors for this creation. My Boyfriend Scales Walls (OPI) for the white, Grape Pop (China Glaze) for the purple, No Room for the Blues (OPI) as my blue which turned into a beautiful softer blue, Just In Lime! (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri) for the lime green, The "It" Color (OPI) for my yellow (with no hint of the red undertones coming through at all) and Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It (OPI) for the orange/red.

Weekend Water Marble

Well...I finally did it. I wasn't sure if I was ready to commit to something so major, but I decided it was time to finally take the plunge. After 24 years, I finally...water marbled.

I used colors from my favorite China Glaze collection, Up and Away: Four Leaf Clover, Happy Go Lucky, and Heli-Yum. It was a pretty easy selection, and they go really well together.

I used cutepolish's tutorial and it worked wonderfully. Her tips about blowing on the surface of the water and the way she twisted her toothpick to pick up the dried polish on the surface of the water were really clever.

I also learned that you need to be careful about where you place your design. I drew designs in different places on the cup, depending on which hand was going to be dipped. Then I wouldn't have to twist my hand into uncomfortable positions to properly dip the nail in the design.

One additional tip I have to offer is to combine the use of tape and Vaseline. I've heard of people using both techniques separately, but I figured...

¿Porque no las dos?

So I taped off my fingers, then, using a cotton swab dipped in Vaseline, I coated the areas of skin that were still exposed like the part under my nail and the two corners of my exposed cuticle near the base of my nail. Worked like a charm!

Cleanup was much simpler than I thought it would be, and I partially contribute that to my color choices. Black water marbling would probably be a royal pain, but yellow, pink, and teal are much easier. I mainly contribute it to the Vaseline-tape combo I used.

I love that endearing little spot on my middle finger. I'll name it Spot.
