Sunday Hair Day: Rock Your Hair Spray it Hard Big Volume Hairspray

Well, tonight's post is unusual in two ways.  First, I normally don't post on Sundays.  Second, it's not about nails...  Instead, it's about hair.  When the rep from Rock Your Hair contacted me about reviewing their products, I have to admit, I was pretty flattered!  Then, I was extremely nervous.  Other than nail polish, I'm not a super girly girl.  I don't typically wear makeup every day.  I don't dress to the nines unless I'm going out.  And I am certainly exceedingly lazy when it comes to hair.  Usually, after I wash it, I toss in some Aveda Be Curly, a little Moroccan Oil, and some sea salt spray and let it curl.  Needless to say, I was pretty excited to try out new products to see if they would be as easy as my normal routine but better than my current products.  I was very pleasantly surprised, that's for sure.  So, tonight will be the first in a Sunday series all about the Rock Your Hair products.

The products they sent me for review were their Big Hair Rocks Shampoo and Conditioner, Spray it Hard Big Volume Hairspray, Size Matters Big Volume Root Lift, Miracle Leave in Conditioner and Weightless Detangler, and Bombshell Big Hair Powder.

Tonight, let's take a look at the hairspray.  As I usually don't need too much help with volume, I used it for staying power instead.  Here is my lovely mug post waking up with wavy hair.

I then brushed it out and pulled it into a ponytail.  As you can see, I have some breakage from my laziness of pulling it back while wet during the winter.  I always get really annoyed by those stupid little hairs, so I wanted to put this hairspray to the test by putting it head to head against my annoyingly frizzy hair.

This is just after applying to hairspray and patting my hair down.

The nozzle was easy to use and didn't clog.  The spray dried easily without making my hair feel sticky.  The smell is nice and fresh without being overpowering or cloyingly sweet.

To really put this bad boy to the test, I decided to take a spin in my convertible with the top down and without a headband or hat.  Here's the result - only a few bits of hair started to stick up on the side.

At the end of the day, there were a few more bits of hair sticking up after a day full of packing and cleaning.

All in all I think this test was a success!  I wore my hair in a ponytail for twelve plus hours, rode around in a convertible with the top down, packed and cleaned my house, and the hairspray only lost minimal hold.  This will definitely be my go-to for hairspray from now on.  Easy to work with, long hold, and nice smell.

You can purchase Rock Your Hair products at salons and Ulta.
