Before & After: Ocean Rainstorm

Hello!!

I've been saving this post for our first rainstorm, and we have finally had it. I had a wonderful time curling up in my blanket and reading--well, for a few minutes until it lulled me to sleep, lol.

The reason I was so tired is that I have been doing National Novel Writing Month (see the badge on the sidebar), a challenge for aspiring writers to come together and support each other in writing a novel. The goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days...and I finished my words yesterday!! I still have more to write to finish the first draft of my novel, but I'm almost there and I'm very proud of having accomplished the words goal!

Anyway, you came here for nails, not writing, lol. For my base for this manicure, I used 365 Days Of Color Vagabond, a neutral crelly with cobalt blue hexes:

365 Days Of Color Vagabond

When I put this polish on, the combination of colors in it reminded me of one of my favorite memories. I was staying at the beach a long time ago on vacation, and they day we got to the beach, the sky suddenly filled with clouds and it started to storm. It was like a great dark blanket had suddenly hung over the sky, and the raindrops made little circles on the surface of the ocean. It was one of the most beautiful sites I've seen, even if it wasn't what you think of a typical beach moment.

To capture that look, I created falling rain over the polish with Orly In The Navy:

The funny thing about this manicure is I did it several months ago (as you can probably tell by the length of the nails), before the waterfall manis got popular...so in my mind, I always think of this mani when I see those, and they will always be 'rainfall' manis instead of 'waterfall' manis to me. So if I slip and call them that, you know why. :)

I hope you like it, and I hope you're having a wonderful week. :)

Hugs and love,
M.
